My Grandfather was a woodworker. When he gave his home to my family when I was young he left behind his workbench and tools. He'd worked for the Flexible Flyer Co. so many of my, and my siblings', early projects contained sled parts. I took shop in Jr. High and built a darkroom table, a rabbit hutch and gifts for Mom.
In high school photography held my attention but later the need to furnish apartments and then a home brought me back. In the 90's I renovated my home, including custom cabinets and doors in the project.
At some point I started making challenging projects to be given to a family member each Christmas. One of these was a carved salad bowl resembling a shell. This is primarily where my focus has remained for the last 8 years; carved vessels. One idea just seems to lead to another. I have sold some of this work and exhibited in juried shows with some success. To see this work visit the Gallery.
